Emerald is often cut in a rectangular step-cut, which is now
known as the emerald cut. It is also found in round, oval, pear
and marquise cutting shapes.
In order to maintain the weariness of the emerald, you should
avoid cleaning the stone with hot soapy water or steam and never
clean the stone with ultrasonic cleaner as it makes the
inclusions more visible.
